What mouthpiece size works with the Travel Clarinet?
You can use your own mouthpiece. The Travel Clarinet works with a standard clarinet mouthpieces (14.5/15 mm), but we have designed an accessory pack (Extensor neck and OM mouthpiece) so you can use any mouthpiece you like.
Can the mouthpiece control pitch or vibrato?
How many octaves can the Travel Clarinet play?
The total fingering range of the Travel Clarinet goes from low C1 up to high C4, covering three full octaves (octaves 1, 2, and 3, plus the C4 note). Above C4, there are additional overblown notes that can be customized and edited through the mobile app.
Does it recognize alternate fingerings or altissimo fingerings?
Yes, we have programmed some of the main altissimo fingerings. We think that it’s a pretty useful tool to have. It’s great to be able to peacefully learn and practice the high register with your Travel Clarinet.
Nevertheless, be aware that some of the usual fingerings used in this range are not programmed because of the Travel Clarinet key’s restrictions (the key, for instance, is united to the key).
How do I control the volume while blowing?
Travel Clarinet has a pressure sensor that detects the blowing intensity and instantly determines the correct volume level.
If I blow through a regular mouthpiece how can it not produce intrusive sound from the reed?
It’s due to the air flow. The internal circuit that guides the air through the Travel Clarinet is much smaller compared to a standard Clarinet, preventing the reed from vibrating and producing sound.
Does it come with any voices? Which clarinet or other instrument voices come with it?
Right now, we have 8 clarinet sounds available in our mobile app, ranging from the standard instruments (Eb, C, Bb clarinets) to Alto, Bass, and Contrabass clarinets. The great thing is that if you want the sound of other instruments, you can use other apps such as GarageBand, Ableton Live, Logic, and many more.
Is this a MIDI interface?
Yes, indeed!
Can I professionally perform with the Travel Clarinet as I would with a standard clarinet or wind controller? If not, what are the limitations?
The idea is to launch Travel Clarinet as a tool for practicing, but our goal is to get to the PRO-Level. Ideally you should be able to perform live without any problems. We are working really hard to get to that point so that we can say 100% confident, yes. We are improving the sensors right now so professional players can feel that the travel clarinet is also a performance tool.
What is the latency?
Really low (8-10ms) if you use Bluetooth connection, and 0ms if you use USB connection to your computer.

The Travel Clarinet is almost all yours!
