What if every time you picked up your sax, you had someone right there to listen, spot your mistakes, and keep you going?
That’s the idea behind Odisei Play, our new music learning app designed to make learning and practicing an instrument easier and more fun.
Learning an instrument often means spending hours practicing alone, without anyone to listen or give you feedback. Odisei Play is there for those solo practice moments, helping you know if you’re on the right track and, most importantly, keeping you motivated to play.

How it works
Our goal is to make learning music as engaging as completing a video game level. Odisei Play listens while you play and gives you real-time feedback, helping you know instantly if you’ve hit the right note.
Designed primarily for the Travel Sax 2, the app also works with acoustic saxophones through your microphone. And we’re already working on bringing the full experience to clarinet and Travel Clarinet very soon.
Three ways to view the music
We know that learning to read sheet music takes time, but that shouldn’t stop you from playing songs from day one. That’s why Odisei Play offers different ways to play, depending on your level:
-
Sax Hero: Start playing right away, even if you’ve never read music before. See exactly which keys to press and when. No previous experience needed.
-
Notes Roll: A simple, visual way to learn and play songs without reading traditional sheet music.
-
Music Sheet: The classic sheet music experience. It’s still in beta, but you can already try it while we continue improving it.
What you'll find inside
-
Learn (start from scratch in 30 minutes): Explore interactive courses and learn step by step. You can start from zero with the Travel Sax 2, no previous music knowledge needed, and be playing your first phrases in around 30 minutes.
-
Practice (build your technique): Work on the fundamentals that make a difference over time: scales, arpeggios, progressions, and more.
-
Grow (track your progress): Set goals and keep track of your practice time. Staying consistent is key to improving.
-
Play (discover the songs): This is where the fun begins. Explore tons of songs across all difficulty levels and start playing.
💡 Tip before starting a song: Tap the BPM number to slow the tempo down. Once you’ve got it under control, gradually speed it back up!
My recommendations by level
If you're just starting out:
-
Only You (And You Only) – The Platters
-
Roar – Katy Perry
-
Jingle Bells
Intermediate level:
-
Rolling in the Deep – Adele
-
Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) – Dua Lipa & Elton John
-
Die With a Smile – Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars (if you're already used to playing with lots of sharps)
A bit more advanced:
-
Rehab – Amy Winehouse (The main challenge is the fast tempo, but it’s super fun to play)
High level (transcribed solos): For advanced saxophonists, we have songs with full solo transcriptions. My personal favorites:
-
Lily Was Here – David A. Stewart & Candy Dulfer
-
Just the Two of Us (you'll find it in the app listed as "saxo cover and solo")
Here's a quick video of me playing one of them:
Whether you're just starting out or working on advanced solos, we'd love to hear how it's going! Head over to the feedback section in the app and let us know what song you're practicing right now, or which track you’d love to see added next!
