Recently, as part of my role as Wind Product Manager at Odisei Music, I’ve been reaching out directly to our community of musicians to ask a simple question:

How and where do you use our instruments?

Most of the answers follow a familiar, cozy pattern. People tell me they love playing at home in their quietest hours, lounging on the sofa with headphones plugged in, practicing freely without disturbing anyone nearby.

And then I received an email from one of our users that completely blew me away. Safe to say, his reality couldn't be further from the couch.

 

He wrote to me:

"I’ve prepared the two PDF files for you [...] They document how I’ve integrated the idea of a travel instrument into my life."

He went on to describe his daily routine, and I wanted to share his exact words because they capture the true spirit of what we do:

What fascinates me most about our community is their incredible ingenuity when it comes to tailoring their setups to their specific lifestyle. He shared his specialized travel gear with us:

To expand his horizons even further, he turned his folding bicycle into a stealthy, fully equipped musical lab on wheels:

"In the meantime, I’ve set up a folding bike for train trips so that I can travel throughout southern Germany with my Travel Sax or Travel Clarinet. Everything on the bike is functional, has been modified in many ways, and yet remains completely inconspicuous. It’s a mobile music studio—completely incognito. :)))."



When Christopher Small coined the term musicking, he reminded us that music isn't just an object or a file to consume. It is an activity, a lived human experience. Seeing how our clients transform everyday walks, train journeys, and bike rides into opportunities to make music is the greatest proof of support we could ever ask for.

Whether your ideal practice session is a quiet evening on the sofa or a bike ride into the countryside with a travel kit on your back, music is meant to be lived.
